Sip Your Way to Glowing Skin: The Beauty Benefits of Matcha + My go-to Latte Recipe

Bright green and earthy, matcha is a superfood that offers many beauty boosting benefits when you drink it regularly. Consider it a natural beauty elixir in a cup! Here’s how it helps your beauty inside and out:
- Rich in antioxidants like EGCG, a powerful antioxidant that protects from premature aging, environmental stress and free radicals.
- Boosts collagen production and improves elasticity.
- Has anti-inflammatory properties which calms skin irritations and reduces redness.
- Detoxifies the body. Thanks to its high chlorophyll content, matcha helps the body flush out toxins.
- Balances hormones and reduces stress. Matcha contains L-theanine, which helps regulate cortisol (the stress hormone).
- Hydrates and Nourishes. Matcha contains vitamins B and E, both known for promoting cell regeneration and skin hydration.
- Wound healing. Matcha has been shown to help with wound healing and speeding up skin repair.
- Improves blood flow in the skin and body. Better blood flow helps deliver nutrients and oxygen to the skin.
- Other perks of Matcha: shown to help with fat burning, improve brain function, boost energy, and help ward off infections.
My Favorite skin glowing matcha latte recipe:
Besides the matcha which has so many beauty boosting benefits, this recipe also contains my top recommended collagen powder making this matcha latte extra nutrient dense and high in protein!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder: My current fav on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4n6yb7F
- 6 oz hot water (keep water temp under 170 degrees F to protect integrity of matcha)
- 1 tsp Manuka honey or raw honey (optional)
- 1 scoop collagen powder: 25% off here for the best collagen powder I have found: https://shop.mindbodygreen.com/STEPHANIE74419
- Approximately 1-2 oz of milk of your choice. If working on balancing blood sugar avoid oat milk and stick with almond, cashew, regular milk or even half and half
- A dash of cinnamon on top (optional)
Instructions:
- Add hot water and matcha powder to a cup or mason jar and mix well. I like to use a handheld milk frother like this one: https://amzn.to/4nzQa6j
- Add in honey, collagen powder and milk then mix with a frother.
- Add your dash of cinnamon on top. Enjoy!
- You can make this an iced latte as well. Use less water and more milk and of course ice!
Let me know if you try it!!
